Welcome to the pod website.

I opened the first pod in 2006. I couldn't find anywhere near work that served nutritious, natural food so I decided to give it a go myself. After a very steep learning curve I'm blushingly proud to be at the helm of the UKs fastest growing healthy fast food chain, now populated by a group of fantastic, passionate, people...

We're pioneering a new kind of food business, with values and interests which differ from traditional food retailers and which can be broadly summarised as follows:

• INGREDIENTS - We use natural, meticulously sourced ingredients to make delicious, nutritious food that we all eat.
• PRINCIPLES - We want to build a business that we're proud of. So we embrace Fairtrade / low food miles / sustainable fishing / no additives, preservatives or colourings / seasonality and UK farms.
• PEOPLE – We all want to be part of a happy team of people who enjoy what they do so everybody at pod has a say in what we do and how we do it. We pay above average wages to above average people.
• PACKAGING- We serve our food in compostable packaging, which is made from plant matter, and we provide a composter in every pod. Nothing less.
• PODS - We build every pod from sustainable or recycled materials. We use recycled glass, sustainably forested oak timber, recycled flooring materials and furniture, organic paint and lots more.
